"The phone has an incredible camera function on it as well as a very powerful flashlight. It also has a night vision setting, though the night vision setting drains the battery very fast. The regular battery life of these phones is 24 hours, but using the night vision will shorten the life span to only 8 hours."

in your backyard. did you know you have a garden back here?

[ dean's been marinating on this for a few hours, and he's pissed, but he tried to wait and collect his thoughts before he went screaming at his wayward angel. ]
text -> action
ill be mindful not to uproot anything worth eating
[ Kale not included. jk, he'll tend to and water it along with the rest, but also there are way better greens to be growing. If only Cas had some of those seeds to plant. His knees and hands are dirty with soil when Dean arrives, and he doesn't stand, but looks up, smiling like he can't tell how pissed off Dean is from the line of his shoulders. This is going to be the fun kind of talk then, eh. ]
The man himself arrives. What can I do for you, my fearless leader?
no subject
He takes a few sips of booze before he heads out back, hands in his pockets, shoulders stiff as he looks down at Cas. ]
Cas, why'd you tell Sammy about all the Lucifer shit? He's fourteen, and now he's having mental breakdowns.
no subject
Dean, I know Sam's your brother and you want to protect him, but in his future, he said yes to the devil, and it broke the world. If that were you, wouldn't you like to be told how royally you'd fucked up before you did it?
no subject
[ He groans, drags a hand down his face. ]
It's not his future, man. It's all already happened. We used a spell to de-age him, to get rid of Lucifer. He's not...some younger version. He's already done it all, you can't just--
[ His face twists, frustrated. ]
Sammy's a kid again. He's got a second chance to just be a kid, and now he's convinced he's ruined everyone's lives and he's a horrible person.

i'm sorry. it's your family's job to fuck your life up and make you question all of your choices. i'm not your family, and it wasnt my place to say anything. things are hard for everyone. i shouldnt have made them harder for you.
no subject
You don't have to be nice to me just because you're friends with Dean.
If you want me to stay away from you
I'd understand
Dad told me once, 'an eye for an eye' in hunting.
If monsters hurt people, the people hurt monsters back.
It sounds like I fucked up everyone's life
so you were just doing eye for an eye, right?
no subject
sam, did your father ever sit a monster down, read a book with them, ask them to maybe try to be nicer?
no subject
what do you think he'd do if he learned I'll cause the world to end?
[He loves his dad. He just wants his dad to be okay, no matter how angry he makes him.
He also knows what his dad does to people who hurt other people.
And from what Cas says, Sam... hurts a lot of people. At the thought of his father learning any of this, his stomach is ice — burning hot, heavy as it rolls over, and his fingers are a bit more sporadic with nerves as he types up another reply.]
Like I said
if you're just being nice because you don't want Dean to get pissed
don't worry about dean, I'll talk to him.
no subject
sam, you didnt cause the world to end
Angels did.
and apparently in some other universe, the older version of yourself said yes to Lucifer and he SAVED the world
so i'm sorry i told you what i did, because i didn't know that things could
[ Cas hesitates because, fuck, maybe Dean was right, maybe he shouldn't have said anything to Sam, but how would ignoring him and letting him think he's a monster help anyone? ]
it wasn't your fault, Sam
youre a good person and Heaven failed you
they failed everyone.

He isn't sure where Cas is, but while he's thinking about it, he's gonna tell him.
Dean is exhausted from those summoning requests, so he's laying on his bedroll texting his ever faithful angel. ]
there's a dog in the house now.
text; UN: 42069
So no, Cas hasn't realized there's a dog in the house yet, but even if he had, how could he miss the chance to make a joke about it? ]
dean, you shouldnt call yourself that. youre a wonderful man
no subject
Very funny.
Seriously. Don’t let it out.
no subject
why do we have a dog?
no subject
Don’t be a dick. You know what I mean. Obviously let it pee, but don’t let it run away.
because I’m stupid
no subject
[ Like everything you own, but that's another story. ]
let me guess... the younger sam wanted a dog, and you happened to have a convenient way of losing blood+chanting to get one
[ You're so soft, Dean. Don't let anyone you've brutally murdered tell you otherwise. ]
do we have enough rations for it or should i be planning a scavenging trip for us?

So yes, he's texting. From inside the house. That they are both in. Right now. Smooth.]
How are you feeling?
no subject
Presumably, it's easier for him. He hasn't spent very long making friends with new people and rallying against Deerington-brand apocalypses Dean and the others have had to face. He never had to see Sam and hear Lucifer speaking through him. The end for Cas has always been roaring ever closer. ]
like the world is ending and theres nothing to do but pretend that it isnt until we're all gone
so you know, same ol same ol
[ It's always been Cas's modus operandi to follow Dean's lead, and whether that takes them back to their own world and a violent death, as it almost had, or to spending time playing house at the edge of the world, as long as Dean is there, Cas is as content as he's ever going to be. Though a part of him wishes there might've been some other, better way, he does his best to drink and smoke those ideas away. Sam, on the other hand is... always a complication, he's very much not like Dean. ]
feeling restless? i've got some chill pills if youre interested
no subject
And Sam thought he was bad.
Even worse, everything he has to say is valid.]
Tempting but maybe later. We can't all be high and look after ourselves.
[He is restless, though. Restless and exhausted and fearful. Scared of the void they're hurtling towards, scared of the catastrophe they've only just avoided, and scared of the consequences of his.. their actions to survive.
He's spent the night torching his car and their contaminated clothes; cleaning anything he thinks might have carried Croatoan into the house and keeping his hands busy to parry the churning mess in his head. An attempt has been made to reorder himself into something vaguely intelligible but more than the fear, he's angry. He's angry and hurt. Dean has never ditched him for Cas before, not ever. And okay it's selfish and kinda (really) fucked up but it's left him reeling. Granted he knows why Dean did what he did and granted this Dean is different no matter what Sam insists but.. maybe he's just pissed he didn't see it coming.]
Do me a favor though? Never pull a stunt like that again. I don't want to beat you to death but I'm not above it right now. You have a phone for a reason, try using it before you go catapulting off a cliff.
no subject
are you saying i should have left a note first?
[ Baby Sam is still Sam, after all, and Cas wasn't the first one to jump off a bridge; he only did it because everyone else was, like a good little lemming. Sam is, or should be, smart enough to figure out why, but Cas makes it clear anyway, because he's too tired to be misinterpreted. ]
i dont think any of us is stupid enough to jump into our own worlds again, but i know three of you stupid enough to jump into someone else's, or into a glowing, writhing passageway towards something "new."
wherever dean goes, i'll follow. you can save you spleen venting for our fearless leader and his impetuously independent younger brother
[ Yes, Sam. That's you. Mostly the younger, but also both of you. ]
no subject
There's enough spleen to go around. I'm allowed to worry about you.
[All of you. But damnit, Cas, you nearly got yourself and Dean killed. In a day or so he'll sit them all down with a pointed, tired look and just. None of you can ever do that again. Not to him. Don't you dare.]
Which brings me back to my question. Besides the existential dread, how are you feeling? Both of yo
[You know. His blood and holy oil in you and everything.]
